Fringe Fun 2025

Clients at LDS have been up to all sorts these past Summer months, going out for all the Mad March fun, soaking in the sunshine, keeping cool with indoor activities when the weather gets too hot, and seeing friendships continue to form across our community. Much like the rest of Adelaide, Fringe season is a favourite time of year for our clients. See below some of the amazing shows and installations we saw in the 2025 Fringe Festival.

Shimron House housemates Mark, Greg, Paul and Christina enjoyed a beautiful day out together and attended the Swash Buckling Circus recently, as part of the Adelaide Fringe. This pirate-themed show was filled with all sorts of acrobatics and fun!

As avid lovers of the Fringe festival, they had to come back for more. Next, they saw the Cirque Kalabante – Afrique en Cirque show and absolutely loved this acrobatic show.

Support Worker Gideon took some of the housemates out on a subsequent occasion for some more circus fun.

“I had the pleasure of taking Christina and Paul to see Circus The Show at Gluttony. Christina loved the show. Paul loved the food afterwards!”

Mark also enjoyed the Fringe Sleep Hill installation 2025 at the former Steam train tunnel and mushroom farm in Panorama. Having seen the exhibition in previous years, he enjoys coming to see the latest installations.

The ladies from Bev House, Maddy and Erin, also loved the immersive experience. Both ladies walked the entirety of the tunnel, 370m each way, which was very impressive. We’re very proud of the two of them! They enjoyed going through and taking in the lights, music, the mirror rooms, and interacting with the installation.

The pair also spent a day roaming the Garden of Unearthly Delights, the Fringe gardens on East Terrace in the city. Erin played her favourite ball throwing arcade game, and had so much fun! Maddy was so happy to be there and take it all in, smiling and laughing most of the time as she explored the venue.
In another proud moment for one of our other young females in our community, Grace also went and explored the gardens.
“Grace went to the fringe to see the Upsound Instruments where she got to listen to all the different sounds. This is such a huge achievement for her, she did really well. She was a bit anxious at first but was okay once we got there. Today was a really big accomplishment for Grace and I am so proud of her.” – Support Worker Gabriele

Housemates Laura and Jenni went out to see the Bubble Show in Space show and absolutely loved it. Lots of laughing, whooping, cheering, singing, dancing, and a whole lot of excited “Wooooooo”s as we saw the stage performers peform all sorts of grand tricks and bubbly effects!

Housemates from Dye House went out to see the The Greatest Magic Show at the gardens, and it is safe to say that Claire and Maria had the most amazing day, or you could say ‘the greatest’!
Bruce attended a different Fringe magic show in the gardens then enjoyed watching a street show perform some cool tricks.

And lastly here we see pictured Tracey grinning ear to ear in excitement, enjoying a day out at the fringe and seeing a show called The Vault with her support worker Marco.

It always brings us such joy to see the LDS community out and about and all the fun and excitement of the Fringe shows, telling us what they’d like to see and do. Clients certainly had fun this Fringe season, and no doubt are excited to see what the 2026 season brings to town. We certainly are!
